Become an Arts Ambassador in 2024
Our Arts Ambassadors are a hardy bunch – generous with their time and talents. Truly, we couldn’t do what we do without them. This year, our Arts Ambassadors helped us survey more than 800 arts attendees throughout Westchester County for an Economic & Social Impact Study conducted by the Americans for the Arts. The study results showed that even though COVID-19 was a troubling time for many art institutions, nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences produced a $182,274,854 economic and social impact.
Many of our volunteers attend programs that are funded by ArtsWestchester and provide feedback on the quality of the program and the satisfaction of the audiences. And, that’s not all! Volunteers also help at our major annual funding events – our golf outing and gala. They continually assist at our gallery and gift shop, and actively provide assistance at the annual Arts Award luncheon each spring and JazzFest White Plains each September, where enthusiastic Hudson Valley jazz lovers experience Grammy Award-winning performances. Some even don’t mind a little office work! There are also opportunities for volunteers to use their talents, for instance becoming freelance writers for our ArtsNews publication.
Becoming an Arts Ambassador provides a first-hand experience of how the arts work, and ArtsWestchester welcomes new volunteers who might enjoy an occasional romp with the arty crowd. To become an ArtsAmbassador contact Judith Weber, our Volunteer Coordinator (jweber@artswestchester.org), who will be sure to discover your talents and put them to work for the arts in Westchester.
