Laugh It Up

Comedy has historically been a male-dominated pursuit. But of course, there are some very notable exceptions. Just remembering (I Love) Lucy’s antics can send me into stitches. What was so endearing about Lucille Ball was her ability to laugh at herself. One lady who has that same fervor will be taking the stage at ArtsWestchester this weekend, and I will be laughing all the way to the bank, so to speak – meaning the old Chase Manhattan Bank in White Plains that ArtsWestchester repurposed as an arts center.

Tonight, Kerri Louise is up at the mic. She has been featured in top comedy clubs and festivals like the Montreal Comedy Festival, HBO Aspen Comedy Festival and, most recently, the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival.  A few tickets are still available to laugh it up with Kerri Louise, and experts say that laughing can even slow aging. That is a fact, according to Lucille Ball, who said: “The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.”
