Tough Choices
It’s going to be a tough choice no matter how you slice it. No, I’m not talking about the election. I’m talking about the weekend.
Jazz Fest is sizzling this weekend in White Plains with a terrific line-up of musicians from Brazil, Africa and New Orleans. Two outstanding evenings are Friday with the Gary Smulyan Quartet and Saturday with the Source International African Jazz Band, both at ArtsWestchester. You will have time to keep a date with Louis and Ella at the WPPAC and then we can all rock outdoors on Mamaroneck Avenue on Sunday.
I’ll be making a stop on Saturday at the Children’s Book Fair in Chappaqua (that’s for the grandkids) and another stop at the annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show to see neighbors and artists. Then, I plan to head down to Mamaroneck to sip craft beer and paint the day away at the Harbor Island International Beer Festival with ArtsWestchester artists and our friends from Half Time Beverage. I am wondering how to squeeze in a trolley ride at Arts Fest in New Rochelle and a dance with Cocomama at the Rye Arts Center. As I said, we are faced with tough choices… and they are all on our website at ArtsWestchester.org/events. Anyone not up for the challenge of Westchester’s robust arts scene? Stay home with Anderson Cooper and be a couch potato.
